1Metro Fire Gives Back
You will be receiving an envelope from Metro Fire’s owner and founder, Craig N. Russell, this coming week. Inside of this envelope is a very exciting announcement for the Texas Fire Service.
This package will include a company profile / line sheet, a grant and sweepstakes flier, and cover letter.
Metro Fire, a Texas based corporation, hired our first employees in 1990 and incorporated in 1999 at which time it had two full-time and two part-time employees. The part-time employees were also full-time career firefighters that spent their days off working on fire trucks. Twenty plus years later, the same two part-time employees are still currently employed here at Metro Fire, one of whom is now a full-time employee who recently retired from his career department.
Today we have over fifty-three employees and three locations here in Texas. After more than 20 years of servicing the Texas Fire Service, we have grown into a large family with a career of providing fire equipment, fire trucks and service fire departments here in Texas.
The employees here at Metro Fire are very humbled and proud of our involvement and dedication to the Texas Fire Service. So much so that we wanted to do something that we have not seen another company ever do on such a large basis to reach out to so many fire departments at one time.
From October 1 through December 15, 2010, Metro Fire will be hosting a Fire Department Grant and Firefighter Sweepstakes Program. A list of complete rules can be found on our website at http://www.mfas.com.
The Fire Department Grant program is designed to give back directly to the fire departments of Texas. With the support of our vendors: BULLARD, HOLMATRO, SPERIAN, TASK FORCE TIPS AND
TECGEN, we are giving back more than $120,000 in equipment to Texas Fire Departments. The other program is designed for the firefighters, with over $20,000 in prizes being given away directly to these individuals. The prizes include Sony 46” LCD TV’s, Apple iPads, Apple MacBook computers and much more. Both programs equal right at $150,000 in giveaways.
In these hard economic times, budget cuts, and decreases in fire departments income and funding, we just wanted to give back to those who have supported us over the years. Many times we hear from our customers that they only hear from companies when the customer has money or have been awarded a grant. We work hard not to be like those types of companies, so much that we reaching out today to all Texas departments, including those we have business with and those we do not. Our intention is not to sell, but specifically to give back.
All rules, regulations and forms are on our website. But a couple of very important rules need to be pointed out:
Fire Department Grants:
- Only one entrant per department
- Must be filled out by Fire Chief or his/hers designated delegate
- More than one entry is grounds for being eliminated from the grant program
Firefighter Sweepstakes Program:
- Only one entry per firefighter (even if employed at multiple departments)
- More than one entry is grounds for being eliminated from the sweepstakes program
Both programs will be randomly selected through a drawing with a third party company.
All contact information gathered from the entries will be held by Metro Fire and will not be distributed and/or sold. Winners will be announced on our website as of January 15, 2011.
