Special Olympics Texas Fire Truck Pull
On Saturday May the 11 Duncanville, TX hosted the Special Olympics Texas Fire Tuck Pull. This is the ultimate tug of war. Each team is comprised of 12 or more people with one goal in mind, to pull the truck the fastest. Special Olympics Texas is a non-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for more than 44,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
Before the actual pull was under way, the event was promoted on WFAA’s Good Morning Texas. Demonstrating for the viewers of the Dallas-Fort Worth area what this charitable cause was all about.
People from all across the great state of Texas area gathered to help this fundraising cause. With high attendance the teams were separated into 3 brackets youth, civilian, and public safety. Each team was give 2 chances to pull the truck using the faster of the two times. In the public safety bracket the Duncanville Police Association receive first place with a time of 14 seconds, the Metro Fire team took home second place with a time of 14.3 seconds.
